I am a Thriller Author. I am also a Book Coach. Before I felt comfortable calling myself an "Author," I hired a Book Coach. Why? Because I wanted to write a book that changed someone's life. A book people read ten times over. A book you use your last wish on so you can re-read it for the first time and get that final feeling all over again. A thriller author myself, I live for complex backstories and high-concept plots. I like meaty characters with tragic backstories, dense dialogue mingled with well-crafted sentences, and most of all, small-town nuances (think, Gillian Flynn's Sharp Objects, a personal favorite). I am drawn to anti-heroes and unexpected Agatha-Christie villains. Fraught foreshadowing and crying in Part III. I want the reveal to take my breath away and shock me back to life simultaneously.

Often known in the industry as a Developmental Edit: A rigorous, chapter-by-chapter analysis detailing everything that needs to be cleaned up, fixed, or overhauled in the book — POV, continuity, pacing, character arch + agency, dialogue, sub-plots, maintaining tension, etc.
The goal is to identify the big issues found in the MS. Findings are presented via a 12-15 page editorial letter.
Post-eval, we will meet for a 60-minute Zoom call to go over the evaluation in its entirety to ensure writer clarity and make a game plan for how to tackle revisions. (Package does not include copyedits.)

Now that you are aware of the problem areas with your MS, it's time to fix them. Revision is daunting, terrifying, heavy, and at times confusing. Most of all, revision is where writers tend to procrastinate until giving up entirely — not today!
As your book coach, I am in your corner. I am the brutally honest feedback. The accountability partner. The project manager — keeping you on track, keeping you encouraged! I am not here to tell you what you want to hear, but what you need to hear so that YOU and your MS will thrive.

- 5 separate deadlines (25 pages or approx. 5,000 words) based on the Manuscript Evaluation starting with the Tier 1 problem areas.
- Prior to the deadline, the writer and I will discuss a plan of action for the selected pages and set a deadline for them to be returned — usually 3 weeks later.
- For each deadline, the writer will receive a high-level evaluation (similar to the manuscript eval) of their work — what's working, what isn't, why, etc.
- 60-minute Zoom call to discuss the pages + create a plan of action for the next deadline (Client receives recordings of all Zoom calls)
- Additional deadlines may be added for $250 per deadline
